GRIND & SEAL

STEPS

Evaluate:

Walking the job is the best way to evaluate the subtrate. Visible joints, cracks & spalls help undertand what the installers challenges may be. Moisture marks and visible floor covering can be expressed to the customer to set expectations.

Grind:

The initial cut is done by grinding with metal bond diamond to profile and remove the cap of the concrete. Tool selection is important due to the hardness of the concrete.

Patch work on cracks & spalls is highly recommended on this step.

Seal:

Once the subtrate is prepped, sealing is exercised with sealer of choice. For basic sealing an acrylic sealer is of choice and for a more chemical resistance sealer, a water base urethane is great choice for added protection. The spec for this grind & seal called for acrylic sealer with matte finish.
